May 2013
The end to another school-year is approaching.. It has been a fantastic year and my kindergarteners have grown and learned so much since their first day in my classroom. I am so proud of each and every one of them!
Please see the following for activities planned for the month of May:
May 3 - Doughnuts for Dads
May 10 - Muffins for Moms
May 15 - GRADES DUE
May 15 - Shaved Ice in P.E. for $1.50
May 15 - Games Day! Students may bring handheld, board, games from home to play together. It will simply be a day of playing games and enjoying each other!
May 16 - Field Day! From 12-1 (Outside Games in Back Field) Dress comfortably!!
May 17 - Red Pod Kindergarten Honor's/Award's Day Program 8:15 a.m. (Brunch in classroom to follow) Parents may come straight to the classroom at 8:15 a.m. PLEASE GIVE YOUR CHILD A PAIR OF SUNSHADES FOR THEIR PERFORMANCE.. Bring your video recorders and cameras! You're going to LOVE this!!!
IF YOU WOULD LIKE A COPY OF THE PICTURES AND PRESENTATION MATERIAL FOR AWARDS DAY - PLEASE SEND A THUMBDRIVE IN AN ENVELOPE WITH YOUR CHILD'S NAME ON IT AND I WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH A COPY so you'll have all the pictures throughout the year. :)
May 20 - Summer Celebration Day (Bubbles, Sidewalk Chalk, etc.)
May 21 - Movie Day!! (Watching movies together one last time!)
May 22 - Last Day of School!!!! (Watch for Early Release Info) - Cleaning in room for summer break!

Thank you parents for being so supportive in so many ways this year! You are all fantastic and without you it would not have been the same!! You have no idea how much I truly appreciate the things that you do!!

April 2013
April! What?!
I can't believe that it is already April! We've had such a wonderful year thus far! Then when May gets here we will be winding down another kindergarten school-year. It will be sad to see my babies go on to 1st grade but I will be proud of the accomplishments that they have all made!
April 9 - Chick-Fil-A Spirit Night
April 12 - Zoo Fieldtrip
April 13 - CES Spring Fling from 10-2
April 17 - Shaved Ice for P.E. $1.50
April 30 - DIBELS testing (make sure they have a great breakfast!)

2013 Kindergarten Parents,
I really can't believe that this school-year is coming to a close! April and then May and our babies will become 1st graders! WOW! I am so proud of the progress that these kindergarteners have shown!!
See the following activites or events below for April:
April 2 - PTO Meeting 6:00 p.m.
April 9 - Chick-Fil-A Spirit Night! Simply ask that your receipt go toward supporting CES! :)
April 12 - Zoo Fieldtrip!
April 13 - Spring Fling Saturday at CES!
April 29 - DIBELS End of the Year Testing Begins! Practice at home with your child!
I want my parents to know how thankful I am for the wonderful support that you've given to me this year! It has been a fantastic year thus far!

Parents & Community Members,
Only four months of school left for this school-year! Soon these kindergarteners will be moving on to 1st grade and growing another year older. I can already see how much they have grown and improved since day one! WOW!
February will consist of the following:
Upcoming Things That I'm Aware of Right Now for March:
Bookfair is March 4-8
Dr. Seuss Week is March 4-8
Chick-Fil-A Spirit Night is on March 12th
Spring Pictures are scheduled for March 20th
Spring Break is scheduled for March 25th - March29th
Here we go into February!
Please remember to check your child's folder every day to remove papers, check for homework assignments, see if there are pages that require a signature to be returned to the teacher, or to review their discipline calendar. Be sure to brag on your child for not getting a frowny if they receive a smiley or a straight face for the day. Straight faces are warnings not to continue with their unwanted behavior and frowny faces are given when a child repeats unwanted behavior and in these cases please take a moment to talk with and advise your child of how he or she could have avoided or handled a situation better. Together we can create a well-rounded student!
Supplies are desperately needed in our pod: Baby wipes, Lysol, Clorox wipes, Soap, Germ-x, Copy Paper (white), and paper towels. If you can send one of each of these or just one of these it would be greatly appreciated!

- Yearbooks are on sale for $20
- Feb 1 - Hat Day for $1
- Feb 5 - PTO Meeting at 6:00 p.m. and our pod performs! Come see your child and their classmates perform for the parents and community of Coosada! They have worked hard to learn several songs and want you to see the results of their hard work! :)
- Feb 12 - Chick-Fil-A Spirit Night
- Valentine Exchange - Please decorate a tissue box for your child to bring to school to receive valentine cards from his/her classmates. Don't forget to put his/her name on the box created and decorated for your child. Only fill in the "from" section on the valentines as they will be giving valentines to each of their classmates (no need to fill in the "to" section on each valentine card)
- Any parents who want to create special valentine's snacks for that day are welcome to do so and please send me a note in your child's folder to let me know what your plans are. Thanks!
- Feb 25 - Yearbook prices increase to $22
