August Notes from Ms. Chaney's Classroom
DIBELS...
Parents make sure your child has breakfast and gets good sleep the night before his or her first day! Our DIBELS team will be assessing them for their initial reading skill levels.
Benchmark...
Initial testing given to students to help the teacher assess what letters, letter sounds, and comprehension skills your child may already possess.
Routines & Procedures...
The students will become familiar with classroom routines, the school, and the staff during the first week. I hope that they enjoy their first week!
For the Home & School Connection project...
I will be sending a face home with each student. Please take time to sit down with your child and work on making this face look like your child! Use things such as yarn, buttons, jewels, bows, paper glasses, paper earrings, etc. These faces will be placed in the hallway outside of my room to represent my students. Some February 2011 Information
Hi parents, friends, and family!
I just want to give you an update for the upcoming month of February. The class pictures will be taken on February 1st. The PTA meeting will be held on February 10th at 6:00 p.m. Our class Valentine party will be on February 14th. I will send a note home for special treat information soon. The last day to order a yearbook will be on February 23rd. The book fair will begin on February 28th.
Our classroom desperately needs glue sticks. There are several students who have not brought supplies from after Christmas for the 2nd half of the school year yet. Please send glue sticks!!! If you have already sent some and you can send more for those who may struggle to make ends meet, it would be greatly appreciated. :)
Thanks to all of my parents who help and go the extra mile. Without you, it would be much harder to make it through each given year! Please know that you are truly blessings!
