August Notes from Ms. Chaney's Classroom

DIBELS...

Parents make sure your child has breakfast and gets good sleep the night before his or her first day!  Our DIBELS team will be assessing them for their initial reading skill levels.

Benchmark...

Initial testing given to students to help the teacher assess what letters, letter sounds, and comprehension skills your child may already possess.

Routines & Procedures...

The students will become familiar with classroom routines, the school, and the staff during the first week.  I hope that they enjoy their first week!

For the Home & School Connection project...

I will be sending a face home with each student.  Please take time to sit down with your child and work on making this face look like your child!  Use things such as yarn, buttons, jewels, bows, paper glasses, paper earrings, etc.  These faces will be placed in the hallway outside of my room to represent my students.  Please return this project by August 22nd.
